Jalapeño Popper Wagyu Hot Dogs
Our friend Gina Hansen @the_chubby_home_chef created this recipe for us, and we will never stop being grateful. With Wagyu hot dogs that elevate this ordinary fare to divine (oh, that snap!), jalapeños that add just the right bite, and cream cheese that brings the whole thing together in a magnificent melty mess, this is the kind of low-brow/high-brow ensemble that brings fun back to the table.
Great for game days, rainy days, or really any day, it’s a crowd-pleaser, so you might want to double the batch!Ingredients:
• Wagyu Hot Dogs
• 4 oz cream cheese
• 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
• 1/4 cup real bacon bits
• 4 jalapeños, diced
• Hot dog skewers
• Optional: hot dog buns
Instructions:
Skewer the Wagyu Hot Dogs and give them a quick sear on a hot griddle until they get some color. Warm the cream cheese in the microwave for about 45 seconds to make it easier to spread.
Spread the warm cream cheese over the hot dogs, then layer on shredded cheese, bacon bits, and diced jalapeños.
Finish in an air fryer at 375°F for 5-7 minutes (or in the oven for longer), until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Enjoy as is or in a toasted bun!
